Greyfriars Kirkyard.

In August 2004 We visited Greyfriars Kirkyard in Edinburgh, home of the famous Greyfriars Bobby.  We spent a while there and took some photos with our digital Camera.  This is what our camera picked up. More information on Greyfriars Kirk click here.  If you would like to read about an investigation at Greyfriars Kirk click here.

A little of what Debs felt and saw while at Greyfriars Kirkyard:

Debs felt the presence and saw a young girl, she took Debs by the right arm just on her wrist and stayed with her all the way around the graveyard.  When Debs got to the grave of a young 10 month old baby the spirit girl moved to stand infront of her (see photo below, and note the white mist like in front of her).  The spirit girl was lovely, dressed in what she would describe as "rags" but very friendly and chatty.  Debs believes that she had actually been talking and feeling this girls presence for a few months.  Polly was the spirit girls name, she had been helping Debs with psychic development.  At Pollys' time of being here on earth plane she worked in a tavern Debs believes to be called Greyfriars, helping serving meals and general clearing up duties, she is believed to be around the age of 12-14 years.  Debs has a feeling this was around the time of "Greyfriars' Bobby" as Polly had mentioned collecting money so they could keep Bobby the wee dog.

Polly left Debs side at the graveyard just as she was about to cross a path and go into the Church, saying to Debs "Cheerio, I'm where I belong so I'll leave you now" and a "kiss" was felt on Debs' cheek.  Debs hasn't felt Polly around since that day in August at the graveyard but she knows that Polly is still around, be it at the graveyard or other place and she thanks Polly for all her help.  If you would like to hear more about Polly please email me here.

Greyfriars Kirkyard holds a special place in Debs' heart, it always has done, since her first visit there 19yrs ago..... Debs never knew why, but I think she does now...

The photo below was taken at the Covenanters Prison inside Greyfriars Kirkyard.  This area is reputed to be haunted by the famous "MacKenzie Poltergeist" and the photo shows clearly a large orb.  Also a red glow can clearly be seen at the bottom right of the picture.  We passed our hands through this area and it was warm feeling where the glow can be seen but the air was cool everywhere else.  Debs saw a man leave the second opening on the right and he walked very slowly towards the tree.  This man stopped at the tree, looked directly at Debs then walked round the tree and back into the opening he had came from.

This picture below was taken as the man was walking back to the opening he had came from, note there is also an orb at the bottom of the picture and one at the far right edge.

This picture below was taken as Debs saw a man sitting on top of the stone coffin, waiting on someone or something.  Also a man standing at the left hand back of the picture as if watching the man sitting.  The name John was mentioned and Debs felt drawn to the nearby gates, which lead to Herriot's School.

Later on in September, Debs was drawn to read a book that had been left in the house by her mother, Adam Lyal's Witchery Tales published 1988 - which on page 6 there was an account of a man named John Hay who had cheated death by escaping from Edinburgh Tollbooth and how he managed to remain undetected in the city for 6 weeks by hiding in Greyfriars  and being fed by the lads from nearby Herriot's School.....(note the larger orb above the coffin, this is where Debs said the man was sitting swinging his legs and looking around him)

This picture below is of Mackenzie's Tomb, Debs didn't feel anything here except she wanted away from it.

This picture below is of graves next to the Church, nothing felt here either apart from the feeling of being watched, but in a nice friendly way, orbs here too at the gravestones.

The picture below is of another of the Crypts in Greyfriars, note smaller orbs down the left hand side of the picture.

The picture below is of very old headstones which are actually built into the wall of the Kirk at Greyfriars, again there are orbs on the left hand side of the picture.

The photo below is of the railings of the gate to the entrance of the Covenanters Prison within Greyfriars Kirkyard.  Note the large orb visible through the gate.  Also of interest the glow around the bars themselves which was felt by us as a warm spot, outwith the glow being of normal temperature.

Here are another two photos containing smaller orbs.
